My 17 year old daughter has been diagnosed with POTS for coming up on 3 years. I’ve been diagnosed for about 7 years. We’ve had a particularly rough summer with her basically unable to stand or walk up the stairs in our house. She hasn’t been able to do things with friends, enjoy vacations with family, or even shower most days. Her cardiologist has her on medication, but thinks the past few months are just a flare up that meds can’t prevent from happening, so he didn’t want to do any med changes. We were just advised to increase her water intake, increase salt, and try to exercise when possible. When going from sitting to standing in a flare up, her heart rate can jump 40-60 points instantaneously. If she doesn’t pass out, she certainly feels like she’s going to, and gets really dizzy. The do have a salty flavor, but I like to add it to my Sprite for a little kick! On the hydration side, I feel a lot better since I started using the drops and have had quite an improvement in kidney pain.
